How To Set Up Your Site

Use this sample page as a guide, then replace it with your own content.

1) Edit this page

Open /admin and go to Pages -> Start Here.

You can add, remove, and reorder blocks to build custom pages.

2) Publish your first post

Go to Posts in the CMS and create a new post with a title, publish date, and content.

3) Configure your profile

Open Settings to set your site title, description, avatar, and social options.

4) Remove sample content

When you're ready, delete this page and the sample post from the CMS.

5) Use your own domain (optional)

Point your domain at your host (GitHub Pages, Netlify, or Vercel each have a "custom domain" setting — no code involved). That's it: the first time anyone visits, the site announces its new address to the Pirate network automatically, and signing in from the site registers it too.

If social features show a connection message right after the move, wait a minute and reload — the network is learning your new address. Signing out and back in also refreshes everything, including where your posts feed from.

If something looks stuck

"Couldn't reach the Pirate hub" — usually a just-moved domain. Wait a minute, reload, and sign in again.
CMS won't open — /admin needs the correct repo in its config; if you used the setup wizard this is already done.
New posts not in the network feed — sign in once from your site so your feed address updates to your current domain.
